In conversation with Ketki Dave
Mostly known for essaying the role of Daksha in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Ketki Dave is one strong actress who is currently delivering a power packed performance in Mahakumbh (Arvind Babbal Productions) on Life OK as Thappadiya Mai.
The actress who makes all her roles on small screen distinguishable with her antics believes that her theatre background has helped her a lot in performing. “I believe that theatre is the foundation for any actor. I began my journey from theatres and have learnt a lot from it. And belonging from theatre background I was naturally inclined towards it.”
Being from a family of actors she’s definitely much influenced from her mother, veteran actress, Sarita Joshi and speaking about the same she said, “She is definitely my biggest critic and biggest inspiration at the same time. When I used to see her performing on stage I used to get fascinated with the love and appreciation of the audience. And I believe from there on I started to love acting.”
When asked about the roles she performed, she quipped, “I believe that when I can modify and develop my own inputs for a particular character then why not doing it. In fact when I got the offer of doing Mahakumbh I instantly took it up because I had the opportunity of doing something new so, thought of taking the risk.”
Enjoying her stint in Mahakumbh, the actress also spoke about how the contents of television have changed over the years. “When I started working in Hasratein in mid-90s’ much importance was given to the quality then. Later on as serials became commercially widespread quantity became more important. Though we can freely show any content, I believe that it is our responsibility to take care of what we show to our audience.”
Before signing off the actress mentioned that she would love to perform in a comedy show as she would prefer to make audience laugh.
